A challenge. Serve Him with passion.

I was in a conversation last night. A like-minded conversation with a friend who has also been called to serve God  through missions. We were crying together about how we are completely and utterly miserably homesick for a place we have never been before. We were crying over people we don't know! 

Does that seem strange to you?

During our conversation something hit me like a ton of bricks. It hit me hard! I know that many people cannot understand how my heart breaks for the people of Papua New Guinea, and how I know that I was created to serve God by serving them BUT I believe  - with the very depths of my heart and mind - that as followers of Jesus, as Christians -  we all (yes, every single one of us!) have a calling to serve Him with passion. With such passion that when we are not in the exact place that we know that we know that we know that we know we are to be that our hearts will remain discontent. Miserable and broken until we reach that place. Hence, my homesickness feeling.

So, let me issue a challenge. If you don't know that you know that you know that you know if you are in the exact place in your life that God created for you. If you have lost your passion for serving Him or never found it. If your heart has not been broken by what has broken His heart. Find it. Ask Him. Pray for it. Serve Him with passion.

Make this your reality:

Challenge yourself to serve Him with passion. And pray for me. Pray for my homesickened heart. Because I know that I know that I know that God created me to serve Him through the ministry of Bible translation. I know that I belong in Papua New Guinea. I know that I do not belong here anymore. I know it. God has instilled a passion in me that only He could. Please pray for me as I wait. Wait on His perfect timing.
