sounds of Ukarumpa

Sometimes I have to take a purposeful glance at what God is dishing out in life. This post is something like that:

Birds. Birds that chirp 24 hours a day. Birds that sing nonstop after a renewing rain.

Wind. Wind rustling through banana groves.

Burning bamboo. Not to be mistaken for gun fire. :)

Airplanes, helicopters, dirt bikes... oh, my!

Children playing. Oumpa (national elementary school) students directly outside my bedroom window. Kids of all ages "sharing" the rope swing.

Rain. The refreshing sound of rain drops on a tin roof.

Gas stove igniting. Clicking while I wait for a tiny "poof" of the flame, and followed by a gentle "hiss" of it continuing to burn.

Dogs. Relentlessly barking.

Kids calling my nameS. Mrs. Driggers, Momma D, Mom, Mommy, Sara, Momma Sara, Momma. <3

Steps creaking. The front steps telling me of someone's arrival.

The invisible mosquito. Buzzing in my ear all night long.

Lawnmowers. Relentlessly cutting grass.

Basketballs. Balls bouncing on the court in the backyard.

Geckos. Making kissing noises from the ceiling.

Bells. The bell ringing as someone enters the gate below our home.

Porch swing. Creaking from the courtyard.

Rocks crunching. From a distance as others walk by, beneath my own feet and from the few passing cars.

The horn. Faithfully sounding Monday through Friday at 7:45, 8:00, 10:00, 10:15, 12:00, 12:45, 1:00, 3:00, 3:15 and 5:00!

Flickering florescents. Click, click, clicking as I wait in the dark.

Creaking hardwoods. Echoing through the room beneath my feet.

Clothes on the line. Whispering in the wind.

"Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is Yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
You are exalted as head over all."
1 Chronicles 29:11 NIV
