where the eating's good

They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. They also say that home is where the heart is. Well, this hostel mom says, home is where the eating's good. Seriously, my house feels more like a home and the troops are happier (maybe that is what makes it feel more like home?) when the food is good. It may seem trivial to some, but my ministry to the kids God entrusts to us is my cooking. Since God opened the door to this new way of serving Him I have cooked more volume and more variety of foods than ever before in my life. I would hate to forget to mention that most everything is also done from scratch. Like fresh from the garden scratch. Like I made the yogurt from powdered milk scratch!

I figured it would be fair to share the wealth, and so, I am beginning a new thread of posts, "where the eating's good". Make sure to check back and let me know which recipes you have tried and like! But no worries, you don't have to make your own yogurt for the recipes unless you just want to. :o)
