Monday morning pep talk

"How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?" Galatians 3:3 NLT

I read this verse this morning... the morning after I feel like I can finally take an emotional stop or breath. In the month of July Marty and I spoke in and at a total of 8 different churches. Each time we speak it's like something snaps inside my spirit and releases some sort of emotional flood that fills my whole self ~trying to communicate on behalf of the Bibleless peoples~. The Holy Spirit seems to come refreshed and alive in me... what we do is not a job. We do not represent ourselves... we speak on behalf of those who cannot represent themselves for God's glory.

So I read this verse the morning after a long and stressful month of speaking and spilling my guts to all who listened. The morning after the month of trying to pack up my home of 12 and a half years... and take it to here and there... give some of it away... pack some of it to save... pack some of it to take... yeah, this past month may be THE humdinger for stress levels in my life span (as of yet).

So the devotional title that went with this verse of Scripture? Drum roll please...

Finish like you started

Seems like the Lord was pretty straightforward this morning, huh? When I woke up feeling like I would stop. Maybe hide away for a little bit... forget about my passion for a day or so... you know? Pretend life is "normal"? I guess these few words and the verse from Galatians were the Lord's fresh reminder to me to hang in there... keep moving forward. Keep at it.

I suppose that there isn't much of a better thing on a Monday morning (especially after my July 2011!)... a pep talk from the Lord. Happy Monday y'all.
