our job and God's job

"Add means that we have to do something. We are in danger of forgetting that we cannot do what God does, and that God will not do what we can do." My Utmost for His Highest
I have said it a bunch before. Our ministry with Wycliffe is not about us... it is a God thing. People will partner with us not to support us as a family, but to support God's work of reaching the Bibleless.
The thing about this is that we cannot sit back and expect God do all the work to get things done... He doesn't roll like that.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord..." Colossians 3:23
He expects that we, who find value in His work because of our love for Him will do whatever we can to get the job done... right now for us that translates to newsletters, email updates, prayer meetings, networking, blogging (LOL)...
But our work will only get us so far. We can plan and prepare and work, work, work, and work... eventually our job is done and God takes over. The only way that our partnership team will be complete is when people respond to God working on the hearts. He will speak to others - directly to their hearts - in such a profound way that they CANNOT do anything except respond in obedience to His leading. Marty and I will continue to communicate the profound and urgent need for Bible translation and God will continue to finish the job by stepping in and convicting hearts to join this ministry.
So we keep on keeping on. Communicating the need and WAITING on God's timing to be made perfect in our future partners' lives. It will happen in His timing.
