always on His mind
I have written your name on the palms of My hands. ~ Isaiah 49:16
Ever HAD to remember something? Ever wrote a note to remind yourself? I think that is the intention of this bit of Scripture. God won't forget about me. My name is on the palms of His hands. I am always on His mind. He doesn't need the reminder... I am there with Him always.
Those words comfort me today. I love that the Scriptures are so personal. Sometimes when I am waiting on God (especially lately) I want to do a little tantrum dance - with my arms waving in the air, my feet stomping in circles on the ground, and all the while screaming to God, "have you forgotten about me down here? HELLO!?"
I love to be in control so this waiting process is excruciatingly difficult. Verses like this one from Isaiah calm my screaming heart, waving arms, and stomping feet as I envision His hand held out before me and Him pointing straight to my name - "See that, Sara Driggers. There is your name. Right here. Always with me. In my thoughts. Calm down. Relax. I am holding you tight. I am in control." - reminding me that He has NOT forgotten.
And of course I envision my name tattooed on His hand in beautiful script and vibrant colors! I love that His ink is permanent... my name isn't going anywhere! His promise to remember me and hold me tight will never fade or dwindle - it is eternal.
