BAM!

I love studying the Word. What is reveals to me about who I am. Who God is. What God has done and the promises of what He will do. What I also love is that it tells all about itself too...
food for our souls (Psalm 119:103)
light that shines in the darkness (2 Peter 1:19)
a force that gives life (Acts 19:20)
a saving power (Romans 1:16)
a defensive weapon (Ephesians 6:17)
a discerner of hearts and interests (Hebrews 4:12)
Today however the words "a mighty hammer that smashes" give my heart victory. I pretty consistently battle with allowing my circumstances to allow my heart to feel defeat. These words from Jeremiah literally SMASH that defeat to smithereens. No matter what the world tries to throw at me - God's promises will smash and smush and smuther their evil lies... I am victorious within God's will. And I get to make a mess of the world's lies along the way.
No more the housing market is too slow to sell your home. BAM! "Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another." Romans 13:8
No more the economy is too bad to raise support. BAM! 'Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” ' Matthew 19:26
No more lies. No more defeat. No more too slow. No more too bad... BAM! "For you are God, O Sovereign Lord. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant." 2 Samuel 7:28
